The world’s largest gig economy platform, Appjobs and the global identity verification provider, Passbase have today announced their partnership to speed up, simplify and scale its Know Your Customer (KYC) and digital onboarding operations.
“Partnering with Passbase helps us provide a fully digital and frictionless onboarding experience” - said Magdalena Wierzbicka, head of Partner Growth at Appjobs. “Their interface is easy to navigate for our users and their platform helps our team reach decisions very quickly and intuitively”.
Appjobs is active in over 770 cities around the world and counts among its partners some of the biggest peer-to-peer companies including Airbnb, TaskRabbit and Rover. Launched in 2017, the company today has offices in Katowice and Stockholm and its Institute regularly publishes research on the evolution of the gig economy globally.
By integrating Passbase’s identity verification service, Appjobs users will be able to verify their identity in a matter of seconds. Rather than scanning and sending their IDs, and the company having to perform checks manually, users can simply take a photo of their passport, national ID card or driving license and a selfie.
Supporting government issued IDs from 190 countries, Passbase first checks the authenticity of the uploaded document. Next it matches the document to the user’s biometrics and uses liveness detection to make sure that the person is physically present and is the legitimate owner of the document.
Mathias Klenk, CEO and co-founder of Passbase, said “we’re very excited to be supporting Appjobs’ mission as it continues to grow globally”. “Because our suite of KYC tools is available in most major languages and across different platforms, we can enable Appjobs to onboard users from all corners of the world with simplicity and security.”
